Epilogue II: Pre-promness

Blogging from leeny's home!

Thoughts of a prom-skeptical

Prom ought to go down in shambles Prom suckxz. See, prom isn't even over, in fact it is tomorrow at 7pm, but here i am, bring a major bigot, saying that it sucks. Well that just goes to show how sucky it is, doesn't that. It's the event than can even pull intense shopaholics out of that hobby for at least a month, a toe tripper on the heels of the richest teenagers, a unwanted pustule in the economy of retail..(ok fine that's not true - read article below). Still. Let's go down to exclusive but unnamed interviews with some of our disgruntled schoolmates.

"Leg die alr." - after a day of shopping purely for prom get ups

"Shopping is the suay."

"Shopping is the most boring and waste time activity ever."

"Screw prom."

"I'm not looking forward to it. But i paid."

Seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee?!

Food for thought: http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE5B03Y020091201?pageNumber=1&virtualBrandChannel=0

"Cost of school formals soaring as teenagers glam-up

CANBERRA
Tue Dec 1, 2009 1:01pm EST

CANBERRA (Reuters) - Parents used to save for their children's weddings but now there's another major rite of passage to fund before they even leave home -- the school formal or prom, a booming industry which seems recession-proof..."

well, who cares about my prom skeptical alter ego. I for one, the optimistic forward looking lover, have my own plans to be happy. (:

cheerios to all!

Aces High

A few more days into freedom has 'de-wierded' my brain somewhat. though occasionally i still feel compelled to shout 'yohoho and a bottle of rum' randomly.

mwahaha. while being all 'rehab' and working up a sweat in the gym, we also finally managed to pull off a successful beach day with much sun, wind and absence of rain. it was really good, save the showering pit. yeah. i took off with leen to paya lebar after that to eat at suki sushi, where we ate an incredibly delicious dish of cheese sauce coated mussels. wow. yum yum. i still want some more!

Well i'm about to go off to the library now in search of books and inspiration - so i'll just leave with some tidbits:

Book of the week: Dating Hamlet: Ophelia's Story by Lisa Fiedler
Song of the week: Resistance by Muse
Game of the week: Final Fantasy VI

...
and a snippet from skype fun + cool camera effects. leen decided to take snapshots:

love is our resistance

Wear. (Epilogue I - After the As)

Alright dudes first ever real blogpost ever since 14 years of education ended!

It was definitely no examination (I'm referring to the A Levels here) to ask people 'how was it'? for. Because: who cares? we have 3-4 month wait before the results come! In fact i'm a little early since many people are actually not finished, so to all who haven't finished a 'let's go, let's go!' and to those who have, well done and don't think about it!

It feels surreal honestly that it has finished. It didn't involve (even though moose rightly said it should) the 'hiring of a hall'. Heh. I mean it doesn't feel like much! Or i should say it doesn't feel as much as what one would expect after the end of As. As compared to the years with 4P in RI, this end certainly came relatively quietly.

That's not to say it's not/hasn't been fun! Pursuit of interests now lies awaiting. Time to feel up my sticks (drum sticks, mind) and other instruments (musical, mind, for 'whereby hangs a tale, sir?' 'Marry sir, by many a wind instrument that i know.'), my pen (for writing, mind), and my ball (mouse ball, mind). And loving a certain dear all day long (:

Right after lit the 7B lit troupe trooped to wheelock for dinner! Though the Pepsi there cost more than Mad Jack's 'potions', and the pastas way over 10 bucks, the parmesan was pretty good. We were joined by ajay and phoon, the hilarious ever compatible couple, which ensured our later plans. While the girls left for far east, we headed for dhoby ghaut, first going the wrong way under leadership of our dear captain sp(h)oon :P

The next day we were.

mm you read that right. we were. the last time we wered* was so long ago. (gymming) So we were doing that in the morning. Supposedly we were to were (apologies :P) at 10.30, but we ended up only starting at 11.45 thanks to sluggishness of a certain moose on the loose and an E demon. Thereafter we trooped off for unplanned shopping which was just a good walk for me. I spotted a nice tie, which i bought yesterday.

Thursday i picked my little tree up from junction 8 after her jap paper! we ate at udders and a very nice bak kut teh stall that we hunted in aljunied for lunch. Then the rest of the day was spent at my house with dear (: we had instant noodles for dinner after she got a craving for cup noodles. *hugs*

Friday hailed movies! watched 2012 with my family, which is a nice movie for the big screen because of the effects. Though the plot lacked a certain spark to it, the overall film was still quite a good creation, in my opinion! (*pats leen*) and then in the evening i joined up with moose, his bro, peng and eddie for a much awaited 'training session'. Every single match was surely won. But then there was a blackout right after a game host quit, and the lardy lanshop to 30 minutes to get their power back on. We spent the waiting time puffing it out at a corner exploring the place in the dark. AND WE GOT NO DISCOUNT. LIKE TURF. Make us wait so long!

So then i got the abovementioned tie in the evening, before going to meet leen at kembangan for really good kidney mee sua! and we spent the night walking around under the moon, meeting pregnant cats, looking at dresses and neoprint shops, and sitting under lamposts and coconut trees by kallang river. It says 'beware of coconuts' there. really! Hahaha. But i stole something from leen (: happy! HEHE (:

And now, i'm preparing for my first piano lesson in um, 6 weeks? haven't practised at all dudes, this is gonna be great.

and get well soon leen!! (:

ice cream from udders (: *heart*

(once again) we're not alone here

And here i was supposed to have a pre-prelim blog entry. Never mind though, here i am!

After the prelims, most people seem to have a new take on life. I for one, still feel the same.

Anyway, I just had a most celebratory weekend.

A little reprise back to life, before we are thrown back into the fray. Ironic, really, seeing that not so long ago, we were longing for a reprise FROM life.

Never mind, never mind. This is student life, eh?

I have you (:

(loves leen)

will be back.
